Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid

Porsche launches the second generation Cayenne in April, 2010. With an even more dynamic performance, lowered fuel consumption and enhanced efficiency, the SUV perfectly embodies the philosophy of Porsche Intelligent Performance. As part of the new model range, the Cayenne S Hybrid is the first production parallel full hybrid sports car made by Porsche. A highly sophisticated hybrid management controls the interaction of a supercharged V6 with direct fuel injection and an electric motor. With an overall system performance of 380 hp, it matches the output of a V8 with the fuel consumption of a V6. The electric motor contributes 47 hp and can accelerate the Cayenne S Hybrid to 60 km/h. A 288-Volt nickel-metal hybrid battery under the boot floor delivers the electric energy and is recharged by a regenerative braking system and the engine.
