Porsche 968 Roadster
A cut-down windscreen, tiny side windows, a low canvas convertible top. The rear end is lower than that of the 968 Cabriolet, and the interior expresses spartan sportiness. Without doubt, this Porsche 968 Roadster follows in the tradition of the Porsche Speedster. Porsche builds the unique study in co-operation with the American Sunroof Company in 1991. But, at the same time, the Boxster takes shape as a successor to the “transaxle” model range. Hence, this Roadster remains a stunning one-off. There’s one feature that the 968 Roadster and the Boxster of the 1993 Detroit Auto Show have in common: the Porsche lettering on the tyres.
