Porsche 911 GT3 RSR

Customer motorsport enjoys a high status at Porsche. With support from the factory, selected customer teams compete for race victories and championship titles. One such outfit is the Flying Lizard Motorsports team with its headquarters in Sonoma, California. The squad fields the 911 GT3 RSR from 2007 to 2012 in the American Le Mans Series, the premier sports car racing championship in the USA. Supported by works drivers and engineers from Weissach, the “Lizards” win the team championship in the first two years and pocket the drivers’ titles in the GT2 class from 2008 to 2010 in succession. At the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR from 2008, team boss Seth Neiman himself tackles the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2011. Neiman, Darren Law and Spencer Pumpelly hold a commanding lead in their class, only to have a technical fault put an early end to their charge on Sunday morning.
