In October 1992 at the Paris Motor Show, Porsche unveils the 911 Carrera 2 Speedster, which is based on the 964 model range. The leather-lined bucket seats and door panels of the Carrera RS, the colour-matched instrument panel, the flat, now permanently mounted windscreen, 17-inch Cup wheels and the low folding roof are pure Porsche Speedster. However, this 911 Speedster is available with optional extras such as air conditioning, an on-board computer, cruise control, seat heating and other accessories. Like its predecessor, the Carrera 2 Speedster is snapped up quickly. Today, the 930 units that were built are sought-after automotive treasures.
