32 in singles qualifying, 28 in singles main draw (4 qualifiers, 2 wild cards, 2 Top 20 wild cards), 16 pairs in doubles main draw

Playing times
Due to the Fed Cup semi-final between Porsche Team Germany and the Czech Republic, matches during the qualifying weekend will be played on match courts 1 and 2 in the village. Play begins on Saturday, 21. April at 10.00 hrs (all times are local)and on Sunday, 22 April, at 11.00 hrs.

Qualifying and main draw 1stround matches will also be played in the village on Montag, 23 April starting at 11.00 hrs. The highlight on Centre Court in the Porsche Arena will be the Turkish Airlines Tiebreak with six top players at 18:30 hrs.

Play will begin in the Porsche Arena at 11:30 hrs daily from Tuesday 24 April to Thursday 267 April. The quarterfinal matches on Friday, 27 April will commence at 13:30 hrs. The first semi-final on Saturday, 28 April will go on court at 16.00 hrs and the second at 18:30 hrs. The singles final will begin on Sunday, 29 April at 13:30 hrs. The doubles final will take place afterwards.

Television
The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix will be televised live by Eurosport and the regional SWR channel. It will also be streamed live by DAZN.

SWR will broadcast one match live from the Porsche Arena on Thursday at 13:30 hrs and then the first quarterfinal on Friday at 13:30 hrs. On Saturday, it will show the first semi-final at 16:00 hrs. The final will be televised from 13:30 hrs on Sunday. Should Angelique Kerber or Julia Görges reach the final, it will be go out on ARD, the national TV channel.

Eurosport will begin live transmissions with the Turkish Airlines Tiebreak on Monday at 18:30 hrs. From Tuesday to Thursday, one match will be televised live at 18:30 hrs. The fourth quarterfinal will be shown on Friday at 20:30 hrs. The second semi-final is scheduled for Saturday at 18:30 hrs on Eurosport. A recording of the final is planned for Sunday at 18:30 hrs.

As a special service for tennis fans, there are livestreams on DAZN of every match on Centre Court plus the Turkish Airlines Tiebreak.

The n-tv news channel will televise a 20-minute Porsche Tennis Grand Prix highlights show daily from Tuesday to Monday at 0.10 hrs.

The singles winner will receive the prize money and the main prize, a Porsche 718 Boxster GTS.

Status Porsche Tennis Grand Prix
The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix is a WTA Premier 700 event. In the recent past, the players voted it as their favourite tournament worldwide in its category in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014 2015, 2016 and 2017.

First Porsche Tennis Grand Prix
First played in 1978, it is Europe’s oldest women’s indoor tournament. The first winner was the American Tracy Austin who went on to win the next three Grand Prix.

The most successful players
With six wins to her name, Martina Navratilova (USA) is the most successful player in the history of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. Behind her are Tracy Austin (USA) and Martina Hingis (SUI) on four wins apiece, Maria Sharapova (RUS) and Lindsay Davenport (USA) with three wins and Anke Huber (GER), Kim Clijsters (BEL), Justine Henin (BEL) and Angelique Kerber (GER), who have each won twice.

German winners
Four German players have managed to win the tournament to date: Anke Huber (1991 and 1994), Julia Görges (2011), Angelique Kerber (2015 and 2016) and Laura Siegemund (2017). 

Men’s tournament
The only Porsche Tennis Grand Prix for men was held in 1979. Two Porsche Grand Prix took place that year. For the record: the Pole Wojtek Fibak beat the Argentine Guillermo Vilas in the final and won a Porsche 928.
