An impressive show to celebrate the 40th anniversary and an attractive programme of entertainment – visitors to the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix really get their money’s worth in every area. For a spot of variety in between the matches, there are the daily autograph sessions with the stars, competitions and “have a go yourself” activities for young and “old”. It all means the anniversary tournament in Stuttgart’s Porsche Arena will be an unforgettable experience for the whole family.

Impressive Opening Show

The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix will turn 40. The anniversary will run through the tournament like a thread and will be naturally celebrated in keeping with the occasion with the players and spectators. A highlight is the Celebration Night on Centre Court in the Porsche Arena on Monday evening. During the impressive show, circus artistes belonging to the world-famous Cirque de Soleil will show their fascinating artistry as will dancers from the Porsche-sponsored Stuttgart Ballet. The numerous international performers lending the evening a quite special flavour will also include opera singers and pianists. Title-holder Angelique Kerber and the other players will also be taking part as will the guest of honour Tracy Austin, the winner of the first Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in 1978.

Tournament draw in the Porsche Kids World

Who has to play who at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix? The main draw will be made in public in the Porsche Kids’ World on Saturday. It will be conducted by Laura Ceccarelli, the WTA Supervisor, together with Tournament Director Markus Günthardt and Anke Huber, the Operating Tournament Director. A player will also be present.

A village to browse around and be amazed

The latest products and trends from the fields of sport, fashion, technology, nutrition, health and spa treatments are showcased by numerous exhibitors in the Sport and Lifestyle Village. In addition to no end of “have a go yourself” activities for both young and old, there are also the daily autograph sessions with the players in the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix’s attractive area for the public. One can also watch the stars practising close up.

A fascinating journey through time

A fascinating journey through 40 years of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix can be enjoyed by visitors on the Court of Fame, the redesigned Porsche Arena lobby. With the help of former winner’s cars, interesting videos as well as photos and articles, the eventful history of the tournament comes alive again. Spectators additionally have the chance to have their pictures taken in a nostalgic Porsche Tennis Grand Prix photobox and therefore take home a unique memento from the anniversary tournament.

Tennis for a good cause

The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix supports two charity partners: Agapedia and Plan International. Jürgen Klinsmann’s charitable foundation, the “Agapedia-Stiftung”, provides children with, for example, homework supervision and meaningful after-school leisure activities like sport, games and creative arts at their centre for children in nearby Esslingen. The “Kinderhilfswerk Plan International Deutschland” is active in 51 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. As a part of the “Aces for Charity” campaign, Porsche will donate 200 euro to its charity partners for every ace hit during the course of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. The cheques will be presented on Finals Day on Sunday, 30 April.

Sport, games and thrills

The new Porsche Kids’ World provides great entertainment for the young visitors to the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. In addition to a mini tennis court, the area will have a variety of “have a go yourself” activities like for example a Playmobil Photobox, a Carrera slot car racing track or also a LEGO & Playmobil Games Area. Another highlight is the Porsche Racing Simulators in which young and “old” can race each other.

A fan club for every player 

As a part of the Players Cheer Up campaign at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, every player is loudly supported by their own fan club who also hang up colourful banners. Each fan club is made up of 12 juniors from tennis clubs belonging to the Württemberg Tennis Association (WTB) and the Baden Tennis Association (BTV). They are entitled to free entry to the Porsche Arena for as long as their player is still in the tournament. The most inventive fan club will be given a prize on finals day.

Fantastic offers for young and old

Children, adults and families are offered exciting matches and lots of entertainment and activities at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. The first Saturday and Sunday (qualifying weekend, 22 and 23 April) are Kids’ Days with competitions and various “have a go yourself” activities. On the traditional Family Day (Wednesday, 26 April), the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix is well worth a visit, particularly for families – two children up to the age of 14 will be granted free admission.

Big stage for the little ones

The finals weekend at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix also provides the big stage for the little ones. From 28 to 30 April, the 5th Porsche Mini Tennis Grand Prix – presented by the SÜDWESTBANK – will be played on four mini courts in the Sport and Lifestyle Village. The participating U-8 boys and girls all qualified for the finals after winning one of the qualifying tournaments organised by 16 clubs in Baden and Württemberg.

And then there’s...

On Friends’ Day (Tuesday, 25 April), every visitor to the tournament will be greeted with a glass of Geldermann sparkling wine. They will also receive vouchers that can be exchanged at the stands in the Sport and Lifestyle Village for a small present. Various activities with a health spa and fitness theme are on the programme for the Fitness Day (Thursday, 27 April) in the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix’s public area. Also taking place on 27 April is the Women and Brand Congress in which various talks and discussions will concentrate on attitudes and consumer behaviour as well as the increasing media presence of women.
